We drove from Bar Harbor to Bangor on Thursday morning to get on the interstate back to Boston. This is a photo from along the way:
And what's a trip to Bangor without swinging by Stephen Kings house? He really lives here, it was easy to find after you google the address and have a gps. We didn't see him but there were cars in the drive way so they are probably still there, I read somewhere he and his wife go to Florida for the winter. There wasn't anything terribly creepy about the house, other than the italianate style and bats and spiders in the wrought iron fence. There were a lot of people driving by the day were there, so it's a stop you need to make if you ever visit Maine.
We drove back to Boston, and through Salem MA that afternoon. Nothing weird in Salem except their crappy and poorly planned streets and traffic flow. But I guess that's what happens when the town was settled in the 1600's. If I lived in Boston and had to deal with that train wreak of streets and traffic, I'd be grumpy and rude most of the time too.

Whale watching. It didn't go well for me. If you ever go on one of these tours, here are my tips:
1. Don't take small children. They were sick before we ever left the bay.
2. If the captain announces that it was windy at sea the night before and waves are large and they give you the option of getting your money back or scheduling a later date, take his advice.
I did okay on the way out, but as soon as the boat stopped, I got really sick...or the Mary Kate and Ashley diet as we've been calling it. I don't ever remember feeling that bad in my life. I saw a whale 2 times and after that, lost interest. I had taken some dramamine, but it didn't work, Matt didn't take any and of course, he was fine. He got a lot of pictures for me to see later, I still really can't look at the pictures, it brings back too many bad memories. On the way back to Bar Harbor, they were playing some music and one song went something like:
Oh me, Oh my, I think I'm gonna die, I wish I had never taken this little excursion around the bay.
Over half the people on the watch got sick. Matt had to keep getting me more bags. The staff on the boat was great, though. Glad I don't have that job. The canceled the afternoon watch since ours was so rough.
Here's the before picture. I don't look too bad. We didn't take an after, thank goodness.

Bar Harbor from Cadillac Mtn. That's a cruise ship on the left. The have several that dock everyday. Matt was amazed by how geriatric they were and now isn't interested in ever going on a cruise. I have my own reasons for not wanting to go on a cruise... more on that later.
The water was very, very cold.

Pictures from the beach along Marginal Way in Ogunquit.
"That's not a bridge, those are termites holding hands."
If you look on the left side of the first photo of the bridge, you will see the white truck, aka, the crazy mailman in Funny Farm.

Wonder how you find a covered bridge in Maine that is off the beaten path? It's easy when your husband is a geek. Matt bought a GPS and the software from Delorme, I highly recommend this if you go on trip. It was awesome, saved us a ton of time and probably a lot of arguments.

Sunday 9-23. We spent the night at the Puffin Inn, a cute B&B in Ogunquit ME.
Matt had some Lobster. Or Lobstah, whichever.
New Hampshire?!? Greetings from Lake Winnipesaukee. I just love the movie What About Bob.
