Memorial Day Weekend

Matt's mom has been wanting to go to the drive in in Fayetteville for a while. We finally go the chance this past weekend and we got to see the new Narnia movie.

We switched dog food on Abby and Remy, they now get Solid Gold. They LOVE it! Abby sits and waits but she sits down really fast and with a lot of force, it's pretty cute.

I wanted a lapdog, but not one that weighs 55lbs.

Remy makes an excellent pillow.

Remy's Fort.

When I use the scooba, I move all the chairs away from the dining room table, we call it Remy's Fort. I'm not sure if he's hiding from the scooba or from Abby, if it's from Abby, it seems to be like "base" in a game of tag. Our table is not standard height, we got a new one a while back that is bar height since Remy had some salmon sushi one night while Matt was heating up the grill. Normal tables are just the perfect head height for a wiem. Also, one night, we were finished eating and he came over to me and flicked his tongue out on my plate and peas when flying all over the dining room.

New Swimsuit

There's no better motivation for a good diet and lots of exercise than the hunt for a new swimsuit. I'm convinced that clothing manufacturers don't actually have a live human being try on items before putting many articles of clothing into mass production. I've always tried to avoid horizontal stripes on any piece of clothing, but I can't even imagine why someone would think it's a good idea to make swimsuit bottoms with horizontal stripes. I went to 7 stores and came home with nothing. It's very depressing.

Stomp:

We went to see Stomp at the WAC on Tuesday. It's one of the best shows I've seen. I can't even imagine how much energy you have to have to be one of those performers. The toliet plungers and 5 gal blue water bottles were my favorite! If you have time, you should call and see if they have any tickets left! I think they are playing through Sat.
Some kid sat behind and insisted on talking throughout the show. His parents did NOTHING to solve the problem. If you have a child that misbehaves in pulbic or you just can't or won't control them, might want to leave them at home for a show such as this. There were also two older women behind us who kept talking too. And one of the performers had to tell some dude in the front to get off his cell phone. I'm amazing at how rude people are.
Been to the Saturn dealership to get something replaced on my car. Warrenty covered, no cost, wahoo!! I took a book to read, but some guy was also waiting and he really wanted someone to talk to, they have the news on the waiting area, but I really don't like discussing politics with strangers, so I found out he used to be a trucker. I can talk truck. (Although the other girl who was waiting with us soon lost interest in the conversation when it switched to trucking, shocking, huh?)
I also went grocery shopping at Walmart. I had to get some more potting soil for my flowers, plus they had 24 cans of Pepsi on sale, so by the time I had soda, soil and a lot of food, my cart probably weighed more than me, but people still just stand in your way, don't they realize with that much, the chances of me being able to stop the cart while they are looking at green beans being a complete oblivion are very slim?

Hello Retirement.

Day 2 of retirement: having a garage sale. Not going well, much slower than last year. The dogs locked me out of hte house this morning. I had to walk to a neighbors and ask to use thier phone to call Matt and have him come home and unlock the door for me. Abby knows what the door knob does but I'm really suprised that she jumped up enough and messed with it enough to get it to lock.

Yesterday I had to get the oil changed in the Saturn and we had lunch with Joel and Sarah.

Michael-Do you remember when I first started at JB Hunt and you had to translate my emails for me since everyone wrote in abbreviations? It was like they were speaking in another language.

Last Day

6 more hours to go. I can't wait. So far this morning I have:

Read the news
Checked everyone's blog.
Added comments to Michael's blog re: his trip to Bali.
Celebration Food Day, so I've eaten my co-workers good food.
Counted emails from certain folks on my work email address. (the amount of spam some people send out is crazy) I probably only read 1/2 of the emails get sent to my jbhunt address.
Watched the rain.
Considered taking a break to go read some in my book--The Cowboy and His Elephant, but Malcolm MacPherson.

More to come later, probably out of complete boredom.

Springdale Animal Shelter.

A local girl scout troop is hosting a dog walk to benefit the Springdale Animal Shelter. The event is scheduled for May 10th from 9am to Noon at JBH Park in Springdale. Admission is a donation to the shelter. I'm not sure about cash but I do know they need leashes, food/water dishes, old towels, bags of food etc. I'm told there will also be door prizes that have been donated by various pet business in the area.

If anyone is interested in donating anything, let me know. Thanks

Anniversary.

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary. We both took the day off work. We slept in this morning, even Abby and Remy slept later, well, after their 5am feeding. We had lunch at Blue Fin in Springdale, since one of Matt's favorite things is Sushi.

We went to Fayetteville and looked at new/used cars. Matt likes car shopping with me since I am more direct with the salespeople. I tell them what I really think, like "that is terribly hideous, does it get like 100 mpg, 'cause it's so ugly, it should, it's the only thing going for it." The salesman drove us by a BMW that he thought was a Civic, and I tried to talk him into selling us the BMW for the Civic price. I think we've decided to save our $ and just enjoy having both cars paid for even though they don't get outstanding gas mileage. If fuel costs continue to increase, we'll look at getting a Segway.

We ate dinner at Ruth's Chris. It was very good, but not the best steak we've ever had. If you are ever in Seattle, try the Met or Metropolitan Grill, that's the best steak ever. So, they had valet parking there, which confused us, since the parking spaces were like 10 feet away, but they had them coned off. We figured it was all part of the experience.

Tim brought up a good point in a comment he left. I didn't ever thank the guys for hanging the stuff on the stage last weekend. You guys are awesome. Thank you for being so patient and helping us out with decorations for our events. The jellyfish looked great, as did the mesh canopy. I really appreciate you!!
