The Pups

Here's some pictures of the dogs from this past week:
It's Remy, the Reindog. I had to wait until one morning while he was still sleepy and wouldn't care as much.
Abby's ready to go to Grandma's for Christmas Eve! She's an excellent driver too.
They have to check for popcorn under my dad's chair every time we go.
We finally got a set of surround sound speakers for the living room on Thursday. Abby and Remy have to inspect all boxes that enter the house. I opened this one and Remy freaked. Someone had dropped a Cheeto in through the handle slot. Oh sweet Cheeto.
My nephew is here right now and this is Remy's stressed face.

Max

This is a photo of Max--He needs a home ASAP. His owner is having to move home with his parents and Max will be taken to a shelter today since the parents are returning from vacation. He has been kept outside so he's not housebroken and see more comments on my previous post.

Need Help!!

I got an email from a friend at work. Her husband works with someone who is needing to find a home for their son's dog. Here's what she wrote me:

An employee of my husband's has a dog he needs to get rid of. He's just a kid and is living at home with his parents and they're demanding that he take the dog to the shelter today. Apparently he adopted it when he got an apartment a few months ago and has now had to move back home. The dog's name is Max. He's an Australian shepherd mix, 6 months old, up to date on shots but not neutered. Is very friendly and playful and is reported to be good with other dogs and children. Looks as though he'll be a medium-sized dog when full grown.

If anyone is interested, let me know. Call me at the office or send me an email.

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas from the Yeagers!

Matt had yesterday off and he had a few errands to do, one thing was to get the oil changed in the Saturn. I had convinced him also get his haircut at the place in Walmart while he was waiting. His hair grows out so fast I figured that even if they did do something crazy, it'd grow out quickly. He called me at work to tell me that they were actively giving someone a mullet and he was refusing to go there. **sigh** so much for trying to save money there.

Bourne

We got The Bourne Ultimatum from my friend B and her husband for Christmas. The Bourne series could possibly be the best ever. I have two favorite scenes: The first one from The Bourne Supremacy

Pamela Landy: What if I can't find her?
Jason Bourne: It's easy. She's standing right next to you.

And the second from Ultimatum:
Noah Vosen: [in car, on cell phone] Perhaps we can arrange a meet.
Jason Bourne: Where are you now?
Noah Vosen: I'm sitting in my office.
Jason Bourne: I doubt that.
Noah Vosen: Why would you doubt that?
Jason Bourne: If you were in your office right now we'd be having this conversation face-to-face

So, if you haven't seen them, you should, 'cause their AWESOME!! Thanks for the great gift B!!!

Vet

I took Remy to the Vet on Wednesday. They tested the bump on his head and it is only blood and should go down in a week or so. He did really good while we were there, after she took him in another room. The vet didn't even have to have someone else hold him while she was taking blood. Here he is after our visit.

Remy's Bump

When I got home from work yesterday I noticed Remy has a bump on the side of his head, you can see it between his eye and his ear . He acts like he feels fine and isn't showing any symptoms otherwise. I'm not sure if he hit it on the cabinets when they were playing inside or if he got hit by a stick they play with outside. Poor Rem. Abby's always beating up on him.

Thanksgiving

My first Thanksgiving dinner. Josh and Sabrina came over for dinner. We cooked the turkey in the Crock Pot. It turned out well, thanks for the idea Sarah! We played some Wii and Catan. Here's some random pictures of the dogs:

If Remy were a comic book hero, he would be "The Nose"
This was at my parents shop in Noel last weekend. Dad put VCT in main room and Remy and Abby slide all over. Remy runs from rug to rug to get around but Abby takes her chances on all fours sliding out from under her.
Remy and his bridge to the ottoman. Abby squats like this to chew on her bone.

The Roomba

For Keisha: We got the Scooba first and Remy didn't like it. Neither of them has attacked it or anything, they just see them as an inconvience.

Remy checking out the Scooba when we first got it.

The Roomba chasing Abby while she's just wanting to chew on her bone.

Denver

Matt had to go to Denver last week on a business trip. Wish I could have gone too, but it's not close to where B lives. I caught everyone asleep on the sofa when I got up this morning. This is how Abby always tries to lay there with us. Remy's up there too, just down by Matt's feet. I really don't like them up there but they are good, and sometimes it's the only way we get any rest.

My Roomba just got tangled up in some cords under the bed. Matt had to rescue him.

While we're talking about the Roomba...we also have the Scooba, which is the one that mops. I highly recommend both but like the Scooba better since I hate to mop and it does such a better job than me anyway. Apparently, you can also hack the Roomba and drive it with the Wii remote or your laptop. Matt is just waiting for the day for one of them to quit working so he can make a Battlebot.

And life would be so much more difficult with out the Tivo. We have two, they are on wireless and can "talk" to each other as well as our computers. SOOOOOO much better than the Cox DVR. Just get Matt started talking about the Tivo!

The Cat

I came home for lunch today and Abby went outside to explore the backyard. It was only a few minutes until I heard this terrible bark/howl noise. Rem and I went to check it out and she was chasing a cat around the backyard. Remy got it cornered and had it pinned against the fence. I kept trying to distract the dogs long enough for the cat to get head start, so I'm yelling at them and flapping my arms and after the cat got away, I noticed the neighbors were working on their covered patio and saw the whole thing from their roof. Nothing like making a fool out of yourself in the backyard in heels.

Throughout the entire ordeal, I'm thinking two things, first, if one of them gets it in their mouth, how will I get it away from them? I've felt the wrath of those jaws, when I got involved in their fight over who got to lick the ice cream bowl last spring, I don't recommend it. And second, what am I going to do with the body? I told Matt this would happen when he taught them to chase cats.

Good thing that's a 6' fence.

Here's Abby and Remy making sure it's gone.

The only injury I found was a small scratch over Remy's right eye.

And I though it would be boring week with nothing to write about.

Fall Leaves

I can't believe how colorful our little tree in the backyard is this year.

My dream last night.

I had a dream last night that the state of Missouri decided that diplomas from McDonald County High School weren't valid because the level of education was so poor. I had to go back to high school...in my late 20's...even after I had graduated college. So, I guess it was more of a nightmare than a dream.

"I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight".

Or so Emily says in The Devil Wears Prada. And it nearly proved to be true. It all started last Thursday evening with another migraine, which is why we didn't make it to life group, sorry guys, missed you bunches. Went to the Dr. on Friday because with this one, I was having problems with my language and speech, which is apparently a symptom I didn't know about, but freaky anyway. Sore throat on Friday night, cough on Saturday and Sunday after church I felt really bad. We stopped at the grand opening of TJ Maxx and with all the people and the way I felt, we just left. I didn't even feel like shopping. Missed work Monday and Tuesday from what I guess was the flu. And today it seems like I have some allergy thing. I'm ready to feel normal again. The dogs liked have me home earlier this week. When I sick, they get to lay in bed with me. That's a lot a weim in the bed.

Ouch!!

Today while I was home for lunch I was picking up the bathroom rugs to wash them. Abby was helping and we hit heads. I don't think it hurt her but I went back to work with a big red bump over my right eyebrow. It's not as large now, but it still hurt.

Abby gets blamed for everything, we think she could have been the second shooter on the grassy knoll. Poor Abby, it'ruff being a Weim.

We stayed home tonight and tried to avoid trick or treaters. It's not that I don't like giving out candy, it's just that's it's too difficult to try and open the door with two curious dogs. We were pretty successful, the door bell only rang once and it was still light enough where you couldn't tell if the porch light was off or on.

Judge Judy

Today was first first day of being down to only one job. I came home after work at JB but the morning was wondering "What does one do when they get home from work at 4pm" The answer: Watch Judge Judy...or watch however much you can tolerate, anyway. She is a hoot. Today, she was using "Beauty fades, but dumb is forever" Cute...and true. But I'm so not making a habit out of watching this.

There's No Place Like Home...

Matt's mom got his sister a Boston Creme Pie for her birthday, she got it out and came in the living room to get everyone and Abby practice her counter surfing skills.

At least Nan got two. Happy Birthday, Mekelle!

Several times over the last few weeks, I've wondered why I have an SUV, oh right, for 9' palm trees and this black leather club chair I bought in Little Rock. Both dogs were able to come home, but the crate had to stay at the Yeager's. We'll get it next time. Abby wanted to ride on the roof rack but Remy wouldn't let her. Good to be home, even squeezed in a nap this afternoon, right, "squeezed" it in.

Pumpkin Patch

We are at Matt's parents house this weekend. We left after work last night.

Here's Abby waiting for me to load the car. She decided to wear her new Old Navy Sweater for the trip.

The Reminator has taken refuge from our nephew Isaac in the closet at Matt's parents.

The Walmart Cake...

I got this in an email from my friend Tiffany. I guess the folks at Centurytel in Little Rock should write down what they want it to say next time.

We had a "going away" party yesterday for a lady at our Little Rock claims office. One of the supervisors called a Wal-Mart and ordered the cake.
He told them to write:
"Best Wishes Suzanne" and underneath that write "We will miss you".

As the picture shows, it didn't quite turn out right. It was too funny not to keep it.

Beautiful. Just Beautiful.

Water Wings

Michael requested some pics of Remy and his "water wings". Here ya go:

These were from Summer 2006, right before we got Abby. Remy loves to play in the water, especially at the river but he's not a graceful swimmer. When we went to Bob and Carol's house on the lake in Grove, they had a dog life jacket, so we put it on Remy since the water was so deep. He hated it. I think my mom has some of him actually in the water, so I'll ask her for those.

Eddie Bauer was having a great sale today. I got 2 sweaters and 2 shirts for the price of one sweater at regular price. Sweet!
I also went to Sam's Furniture because they were supposed to be having a big $2 million liquidation or something. I didn't see anything on sale from when I was there 3 weeks ago. It looks like they marked everything up, to mark it back down to the price they originally had on it. Yeah, big savings there. So, the drive down there and back is 30 mins of my life I won't ever get back.

Tonight we met some of the other couples from our Life Group at Fuddruckers for dinner. When we got there, there was a Ryder moving truck parked right in front of the place, taking several parking spaces, and not completely out of the road, plus a Ford Ranger that was taking up 4 spaces all on it's own. We left both of them notes on their cars, commenting on their parking and watched to see them go out. They were traveling together..imagine that...guess that inconsiderate apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Last night at the gym some lady in a Lincoln car pulled into the parking lot. My car is the only other one there, and there is a lot of space, she parked in two spaces right in front of the gym, the only business that was open at the time and took up several spots since it's easier to park parallel. What is wrong with people? There are a few weekends that I don't like living in NWA: Craft Fair weekend and Bikes Blues and BBQ. Traffic is just way out of hand.

Yea!! New Laptop

Boo...bad wireless. If we could only have cables in every room so we could plug in to the internet, we'd at least have to wait for the coldest day of the year for Matt to get in the attic to run the cable.

I'm amazed at how much more tolerable Sam's Club is in the evenings. We went tonight and it wasn't too bad, we were there on Saturday afternoon two weeks ago and it was a nightmare.

Abby and Remy are wound up tonight. She keeps trying to steal his bone. Ahh, it's a dog's life. Remy doesn't really growl at her, but he makes this grumbling noise. When they play, he makes that howl/yawn/gargle sound. We'll have to get a clip of that to post.

So far this week....

Wednesday I got a migraine at work and come home about 9:30. I was nauseous when I left and I barely made it home. I didn't make it inside. There's not many things more embarrassing than getting sick in your front yard in business clothes at 9:30 in morning. I was mortified. I hope no one was home to see me. Matt said he thinks the whale watching trip broke me, I haven't been the same since.

Other news: The laptop search continued these week. We ordered one from officedepot.com, Matt checked on it yesterday afternoon, it showed to be in Memphis but the were recalling it to the shipper. Apparently, Office Depot doesn't hire people who enter correct information in the computer because they got his name wrong, which caused our credit card company to reject the charge. And the got his phone number wrong so the couldn't call him back. Matt called them and complained about it, the dude insisted that it would all work out, billing probably wouldn't go through and to refuse the package when UPS delivered it. WRONG again, Sparky. Between last night and this morning, they got the charge to go through and it was out of delivery. FAN-TAB-U-LOUS. Especially since we ordered another one from NewEgg.com last night. (Once you know, you NewEgg). So, Matt called Office Depot again and complained, I think this is really funny because he is so laid back and non-confrontational. They weren't much help except telling us to reject it when it delivered. Matt called UPS, they were able to stop it and it's on it way back. I'm guessing their online endeavor is not what is keeping the company afloat.

This is ALMOST as good as the Walmart.com shelf ordeal I went through in May. First, Walmart.com shipped it to the wrong store. It ended up in Tulsa. The second time they shipped it, it was supposed to come straight to the house since it was there problem, UPS delivered it to Walmart DC in Bentonville, which was the "ship from" address. Matt had to track it down to some DC down the street from his office, so I finally got it. Who runs these online companies? A bunch of Monkeys?
